16 Power: Head Coach

Brock Mitchell joins Club Xtreme for the 2009 season.  Brock is also serving as the Volunteer Assistant Coach at Weber State University.

Brock had been the head coach for the boys and girls teams at Coronado High School in Henderson, Nevada for the previous three years. He has been a part of four Sunrise Region champions, two as a head coach and two Nevada state-runner ups, once as a head coach.  He also served as assistant coach at Coronado the previous four seasons before being named head coach.  Brock also has extensive club coaching experience. He spent five seasons as coach of the Southern Nevada Volleyball Club, coaching the 16 and 17 year-olds. In 2008 he was the head coach of the 16 year-olds of the Desert Elite Club.

Brock earned a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education-Mathematics from UNLV in 2004. In 2008 he earned his master’s degree in Educational Leadership from UNLV.   Brock is a member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association and USA Volleyball.  He is also a CAP Level II coach through USA Volleyball.

Brock attended Long Beach State as a member of the men’s volleyball program before returning to UNLV and competing on their club team for two years prior to graduating.  He has also competed in USA Volleyball Open Nationals tournaments, being part of the gold medal team in 2006.  He has also been a summer camp coach for Long Beach State and Weber State. 

Brock is married to Alicia Mitchell, a teacher and volleyball coach at Fremont High School, and has a 2 year old daughter, Atley.  Brock also teaches Math at Orion Junior High School.
